Terms of Service

Last updated: 3 June 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Sextant website at sextant.shand the Sextant component registry and related materials (together, the “Service”). The Service is operated by Sextant (“Sextant”, “we”, “us”). By accessing the Service or purchasing a license, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Sextant provides downloadable React/Recharts chart components (“Components”) installable via the shadcn CLI, along with documentation and tooling. Some Components are free; others require a paid license.

2. Licenses and use of Components

Your use of the Components is governed by the Sextant License (the End User License Agreement provided with the product). In summary: free Components may be used in your own applications, including commercial ones; paid Components require a valid purchased license and may not be redistributed, resold, publicly posted, or used to build a competing product. The full license terms control in the event of any conflict with this summary.

3. Payments and Merchant of Record

Orders for paid licenses are processed by our reseller and Merchant of Record, Paddle(Paddle.com Market Limited and its affiliates). Paddle handles payment, billing, tax collection, invoicing, and order-related support, and your purchase is also subject to Paddle’s buyer terms and privacy notice. Prices are shown at checkout and may change over time. Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy.

4. License keys

Paid purchases issue a license key. You are responsible for keeping your key confidential. Keys are issued per the seat and usage limits of the tier you purchase, and may be suspended or revoked if used in breach of these Terms or the Sextant License (for example, sharing a key beyond your tier’s limits).

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • access paid Components or their source without a valid license;
  • redistribute, resell, sublicense, or publicly post Component source code (modified or not);
  • use the Service or Components to build or train a product that competes with Sextant;
  • attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer the licensing system, or circumvent access controls.

6. Intellectual property

The Service and the Components, including all related intellectual property, are owned by Sextant and protected by law. Except for the rights expressly granted to you under your license, no rights are transferred.

7. Disclaimers

The Service and Components are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sextant will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the Service or Components. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant license in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if you breach these Terms or the Sextant License. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Your purchase transaction may additionally be governed by the terms of our Merchant of Record, Paddle.
